Hotel Palazzo Murat
www.palazzomurat.itBuilt in typical Neapolitan Baroque style, the origins of Positano's Palazzo Murat date all the way back to the 18th century. In the early 1800's, the Palazzo served as sumptuous residence of Gioacchino Murat, brother-in-law of Napoleon Bonaparte and King of Naples from 1808 to1815.
Whether they stay in one of Palazzo Murat's deluxe rooms situated in the oldest part of the hotel, in a 'garden room' with balconies overlooking the botanical gardens, or one of the hotel's two 'special rooms', these latter created in the newest section of the hotel, guests can expect to find themselves surrounded by sumptuous furnishings, rare antiques and every modern comfort.
A delicious breakfast of freshly baked pastries is served in the hotel's patio courtyard each morning. The courtyard also provides a fabulous al fresco dining room for the hotel's Al Palazzo restaurant and unique setting for the classical concerts regularly held here each summer.
From Hotel Palazzo Murat, a pleasant stroll through the picturesque lanes of Positano leads to the sea and Positano's 'spiaggia grande' beach. For those guests wishing to admire the Amalfi Coast from the water, Palazzo Murat offers free excursions in the hotel's traditional 'gozzo' boat.
