Chiosco Bar S. Francesco

We were here because friends recommended it; it is not a restaurant, but as the name suggests, it is a kiosk, yet the prices are those of a medium-to-high-level restaurant. The quality of the fish is excellent, but I expected to spend less. There were 5 of us, and we had 5 pasta dishes, 2 glasses of local wine, and 2 bottles of water; the bill was €25 per person. The seafood dishes were off-menu, so we cannot say how much they cost, but 2 of them were a pasta dish with mussels. Another sore point was when the manager told us to wait to order the second courses because their first courses are generous; that is not true at all (see photo). We got up hungry and went to Dal De Riso to eat a dessert. Dear manager (who is, by the way, very easygoing and nice), a restaurant bill is fine given the quality of the fish, but throw in 30 grams more pasta or at least do not brag about your generous dishes.

Attracted by the good reviews, we had dinner one evening at this small kiosk near the port of Maiori. We had 2 fresh pasta dishes with clams, 2 scialatielli with swordfish and cherry tomatoes, and 2 portions of pan-seared tuna. We enjoyed everything, but the portions were small and, considering the spartan and minimal location, the bill seemed excessive to us. We will not return.

Went here because TripAdvisor said it was good and they didn't lie

This friendly place is a must if your in Maoiri, you pass it on your way to the ferries and could miss it. It's on the beach side of the promenade just before the port. We had the best pasta and shellfish dishes in the whole of Maoiri. The owner was caring and served us wonderfully. We saw the same care and attention given to other customers and their food looked good too. Thank you. Tip: The family has a place called Beer&Bites in the main restaurant street for having craft beers and food on the left side going up. Well worth a visit too.
