Should I book a tour of the Amalfi Coast or can I visit on my own?
You can definitely visit the Amalfi Coast on your own, especially if you have a few days to dedicate to the coast and have rented a scooter. If you are getting around by bus, travel times will be longer and more challenging. The towns along the Amalfi Coast are all small but in many cases, including for Positano, the bus stop is located quite far from the town center and you need to walk first downhill and then back up to catch the bus. The best way to get around between April and October is by ferry.
If you have just one day or are visiting from Naples or Sorrento, we recommend booking a tour. This is the only way to visit Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello in a single day. We strongly suggest joining a boat tour from the Amalfi Coast to Capri. There are both private and group boat tours to choose from.
Can I cancel a tour?
Most tours offer free cancellation up to a few days in advance or even a few hours before the tour departs. Regardless, all tours offer free cancellation in case of bad weather that prevents the tour from departing (particularly for boat tours). Free cancellation is also included for cases of health emergencies that make it impossible to travel. In the details section of each tour, you can find the specific terms and conditions for cancellations.
