Stayed in a hotel close by and decided to come here. Really enjoyed it. Had a tour of the vineyard then we were treated to a tasting menu of beautiful italian food and wine. Purchased a couple bottles of red wine and sparkling which we really enjoyed!!
Perfectly scenic and delicious filler before/after Pompeii!

We only accidentally stumbled upon Cantina del Vesuvio (after taking some wrong turns in an attempt to drive up Mt. Vesuvius) and we were so glad that we did! The winery is fairly small - we were greeted out of the parking lot by a waitress who took us on a short tour of their vineyard, explaining the process of winemaking on an active volcano. We were then ushered into their beautiful patio-restaurant, where we were provided with a tasting of several wines (with generous servings) accompanied by an Italian lunch consisting of bread, olive oil, meats, cheeses, pasta, and cake. The whole experience (with a view) cost about 30 euro per person. It was a perfect filler as we tried to find an activity for 2 hours prior to a tour of Pompeii. Well worth it! We came by rental car which made it easy to find, but we saw several car services bringing small groups of 3-5 people and dropping them off for their visit.
One of the best meals I have ever had!

I visited Cantina del Vesuvio after hiking up Vesuvius in early May 2016.
We had booked a wine tasting/vineyard tour with Guilermo Travel and after a challenging morning walking to the top of the volcano this was a much anticipated stop. We were not disappointed!
This small family run vineyard and restaurant is nestled on the side of Vesuvius. It is famous for producing the local acclaimed Lacryma Christi wine which we were lucky enough to taste after a short tour around the vineyards and bottling centre.
The wine was absolutely delicious but the food was even better. Our three course meal which consisted of bruschetta, bread with local olive oil and the vineyards own balsamic vinegar, followed by a simple dish of pasta with a tomato and basil sauce (all grown and produced locally) was washed down with copious amounts of the local wine. One of the best meals I have ever had.
I highly recommend anyone travelling in the Naples area to visit this little gem - it was out of this world!
Wonderful day!
