Perched on the precipice of the magnificent Capo d'Orso natural rock formation, Faro di Capo d'Orso restaurant is located at one of the most scenic viewpoints along the Amalfi Coast. From the dining room guests can admire a truly breathtaking panorama of the coastline that encompasses Ravello, Amalfi, and extends as far as the Galli Islands and the Faraglioni sea stacks of Capri. The restaurant offers three carefully curated tasting menus featuring complex and innovative dishes that often take their cue from local, regional, or coastal resources.

A magical experience between sky and sea

If you are looking for a place where culinary excellence meets a dream location, Il Faro di Capo d'Orso is the ultimate answer. It is not just a restaurant, it is a complete sensory experience that I highly recommend to anyone in the area. The first impact is visual: the beautiful terrace offers a spectacular view that, alone, would be worth the trip. Dining or lunch suspended between the blue sea and the profile of the coast is a rare privilege. The attention to detail is impeccable: every detail of the furniture and the mise en place is designed to create an elegant but welcoming atmosphere. The quality of the food is simply superb. Fresh raw materials are transformed into dishes that are true works of art, able to enhance the flavors of the territory with a touch of creativity never excessive. What really makes this place special, though, is the soul. The kindness of the owners and the professionalism of the waiting staff make you feel not just a customer, but a guest of honor. The service is attentive, considerate and never intrusive, reflecting a management that puts the heart into everything it does.

We stayed in this location for a private event: the place is really lovely, with a breathtaking view. Too bad that the only real show was the landscape, because otherwise... better to draw a pitiful veil. Starting with the "friendliness" of the owner, who stood out from the start for at least questionable ways. Rude, indisposed and aggressive in tone: he managed in the Enterprise to respond badly to practically all the guests, as if the event had ruined his day. Getting started: Some guests who arrived about 30 minutes before the event, including a woman waiting, asked to use the bathroom. Answer? A big "NO," because it was "too soon." Chapeau. Elevator out of Service, bathroom available only one floor below. Small detail? Not really, if there's a child in a wheelchair among the guests. Not acceptable. The buffet? Of "rich" had only the price. Ridiculous amounts, many people could not taste some of the buffet courses, and dulcis not so last but not least: those who managed to taste the cake found the cream melted. Not to mention the drinks they served us, (I couldn’t drink a bit of fresh water), since the glasses were clearly few, they were washed on the fly and then hot in the dishwasher. A real touch of class. And then the kids. Forget it. No table, no preparation, no animation. Upon request, the owner improvised a tragicomic excuse: "the animators had an accident with the scooter." Hardly credible, very sad. In summary: beautiful location, disastrous management. A little kindness and a little organization would have been enough to make a difference.

The place is lovely but run by a meitre who tell me, alas, be the owner. We attended an event and the restaurant had been notified in advance of my daughter's and mine's celiac disease as well as other diners. They had not prepared anything suitable for the child and the meitre claimed not to have received the report (which is not true). I understand that misunderstandings exist but we must be able to deal with them. For an hour and a half, he made me go back and forth between the children's room downstairs and the one above, telling me that rice had been served in the other room. In fact, after an hour and a half the child received the pasta and only the one to prove that no rice had been prepared for her. When I asked about the timing because I had a little girl crying from hunger and also frustration, she replied that there were not only us and that my daughter's celiac disease was not her problem. Shameful and rude. If you are unable to handle an event, just admit it. And we wouldn't have participated. That's bad. I would add that in the children's room it was 17 degrees and the maid could not change the air conditioner setting. Save a waiter who took action to feed my daughter and the entertainer who, to console the child, did not eat until even the little one received something.
