Buca di Bacco

Having recently had a big hotel breakfast, we didn't want much lunch so it was a bit disappointing to find that every one of the bar/restaurants we passed as we walked down from bus stop on the main road wouldn't allow us in for 'drinks only'. So, it was a great relief when we got right to the bottom of the hill, with very dry throats, that we were welcomed into the Buca Di Bacco. Great selection of beers and the nibbles we were brought to go with them were pretty good, too, so have to assume the proper food is good. Great place for people-watching on the busy promenade and we were served by efficient, friendly staff with a great sense of humour.

Stopped in for quick cappuccino and dessert. Delicious!!! Best tiramisu, lemon sponge cake and Baba ever! Congratulations to pastry chef, Raffaele!!!

Ottimo ristorante posto proprio di fronte alla spiaggia di Positano, fa parte dell'Hotel Buca di Bacco che si affaccia sul mare della Costiera. Una sala veranda sopra elevata, un ambiente elegante e accogliente, una vista meravigliosa. Abbiamo degustato le specialità dello Chef a pranzo con amici, il menù consente ampia scelta, la cucina a vista ci ha consentito di notare la pulizia e l'ottima organizzazione del lavoro. Qualità delle materie prime, presentazione dei piatti e gusto eccellenti, sapori autentici; pesce freschissimo, una menzione particolare per i dolci davvero ottimi. Da segnalare e apprezzare la possibilità di ordinare piatti senza glutine potendo scegliere praticamente tra tutte le opzioni del menù. Complimenti al personale di cucina e di sala per la professionalità, competenza, disponibilità, cortesia e simpatia. Il conto, seppure mediamente più alto per la località in cui si trova, è comunque in linea con quanto abbiamo mangiato e con il servizio che ci è stato riservato; si paga volentieri quando ci si alza da tavola pienamente soddisfatti. Consigliato a chiunque arrivi a Positano.

We had lunch at the restaurant. The view is beautiful of the beach below. The wait staff was attentive. The food was delicious. Wish we had more time to eat there again. Menu is very good. Prices are not crazy. I would definitely go back when I am in Positano again. Iconic restaurant over 100 years old. You are sitting surrounded by Positano History there. Very nice experience.
