Below is a letter I sent To the Management Team at Conca del Sogno. No response. Edited for brevity. I am writing to express my deep concern regarding a serious food allergy incident that occurred during our recent visit to your Beach Club. Before our son ordered his meal, we repeatedly informed your serving staff that he has an extremely severe, life-threatening peanut allergy. We were very clear that even accidental exposure could result in anaphylaxis. Despite these repeated warnings, our son was served a meal that included peanuts. What followed was even more concerning. Rather than immediately recognizing this as a medical emergency and focusing on how to help, your staff appeared to misunderstand the seriousness of the situation. We were offered complimentary drinks and a reduction in our bill, which completely missed the point. As both a mother and a healthcare professional, I was stunned. This demonstrated a troubling lack of knowledge regarding food allergies and emergency response. Thankfully, our son did not experience an anaphylactic reaction. However, this was not because proper precautions were taken. It was because, only one month earlier, he had begun treatment with an extremely expensive injectable medication designed to reduce the severity of accidental food allergy exposures. Had this occurred before he began that treatment—or had it involved another guest—the outcome could have been catastrophic. As a mother, I cannot adequately describe the panic I experienced. We had done everything within our control. We repeatedly communicated his allergy, trusted that this information would be taken seriously, and believed it would be communicated to the kitchen. That trust was broken. I am not writing simply to express my frustration. I am writing because I sincerely hope this incident leads to meaningful change. Please ensure that all members of your staff—including servers, managers, bartenders, and kitchen personnel—receive comprehensive training on: -The seriousness of food allergies and the risk of anaphylaxis. -The importance of accurately communicating allergy information to the kitchen. -Ingredient knowledge, including cooking oils and hidden sources of allergens. -Appropriate emergency response when an accidental exposure occurs. Food allergies are not preferences or dietary choices. They are medical conditions that can become fatal within minutes. We truly enjoyed the beauty of Conca del Sogno, and this was otherwise a wonderful day. However, this incident overshadowed our experience and left us deeply shaken. My hope is that by bringing this to your attention, another family will never have to experience the fear that ours did. Given the seriousness of this incident, I expect a written response from your management team within the next two weeks outlining the steps you have taken—or will take—to improve food allergy awareness, communication, and emergency response. If I do not receive a response, I believe I have an obligation to share our experience publicly through a Google review so that other families managing life-threatening food allergies can make informed decisions. If the Amalfi Coast is on your itinerary, make no compromise — book a boat, reserve your table, and surrender to one of the most unforgettable dining experiences the Mediterranean has to offer.

I decided to spend my day off here for a day of pure relaxation, also because I know and love this area, being a local. I had a very good time at the beach: the lady at the bar was truly helpful, kind, and attentive. Unfortunately, the experience at the restaurant was very different. A minimum spend of €130 per person is required, but in my opinion, the service is not up to par. For most of the time, the waiters were focused on a single table where some promotional models were present, while the other customers were neglected; the head waiter was completely nonexistent, busy looking at other things rather than taking care of the section. After bringing us the dessert menu, we waited over 30 minutes without anyone returning to the table. Being celiac, I would have needed some information before ordering, but after all that waiting, I completely lost the desire. In conclusion, I only partially recommend the establishment: the beach is definitely worth it, but the restaurant, considering the level of spending required, should offer much more attentive and refined service.

A wonder, both the location and the food. Super fast and courteous service. Appetizers for any need, excellent main courses, and off-menu items to try. Dessert on par with the rest
