An unbelievably terrible and fraudulent restaurant. Stay away from this place!

This was by far the worst restaurant experience we’ve ever had. Do not go here. This place is a scam. After making an online reservation and entering our credit card details, everything seemed normal. However, three weeks after we had finished our vacation and returned home, they charged our card an unauthorized €60. We never approved this payment. The restaurant itself was disappointing as well. It was stuffy, our table faced a wall, and the food was terrible. To make matters worse, they charged our card without permission. Be extremely careful. Do not make an online reservation with this restaurant, as they may misuse your credit card information. I had to cancel my credit card because of this unauthorized charge, but unfortunately, we still lost our money. Avoid this place at all costs.

We booked for a late dinner after a motor boat tour .... and found the place heaving. My first impression was that staff were incredibly busy but I should not have worried: the service was timely, welcoming and most professional. The quality of the food is a cut above other local eateries (we both had tuna carpaccio to start, and I had the filet of beef (superb) and my wife the mixed fried fish

We sat down with our family of 13 for a lovely dinner on our last night on the Amalfi coast. This place had been recommended by the owner of the villa we rented. The food was good, not exceptional. Service was generally attentive, but our entire experience took a hard turn downhill when we were presented with the check. The check was almost €1,700 including several bottles of not inexpensive wine. As we were paying with our card, the waiter asked us how much of a tip we wanted to add and gave us the absurd choices of 20%, 25% or a breathtaking 30%! My husband said how about 15%, which is already a lot in Italy and the waiter insistently repeated 20, 25, or 30. Not wanting to cause a scene and because we had elderly parents with us, we gave them the 20% and left with a bad taste in our mouths. We will never return to da Gemma and will tell others to avoid it.
