Da Gemma

Got a table overlooking the street- great for people watching. We had La Genovese, which was one of the best pasta dishes we’ve ever had!! The scialatelli was wonderful too. Then we shared the fried fish- wonderful!!!

We booked Da Gemma for our anniversary. We were told we had a special table. This was next to a very big group with children. When we asked if we could switch tables we were told yes but it felt like a chore. However the food and wine were delicious and they even catered for gluten free

I stayed at Trattoria da Gemma, in the heart of Amalfi, but the experience did not live up to expectations. The restaurant has a rather dated style, which is more “old” than authentically traditional. The dishes, instead of enhancing the flavors of the territory, appeared overly elaborate and unharmonic. In particular, the squid looked more like a container for other ingredients, completely losing its taste. The price, finally, is decidedly high for a trattoria and is not justified either by the quality of the dishes or by the overall experience, even considering the central location. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Everything was delicious. Service - just superb.
