We actually used Chat GPT to recommend 5 restaurants under £200 for two while looking at all the reviews. It turned out to be opposite our hotel almost. All looked fine, and was well presented. I think in the prompt I may have asked for a view. It failed here as the view is of the building opposite (our hotel). The food was good, but not excellent. But frankly I didn’t find the waiters very friendly or helpful. We asked for a little advice as we wanted a full bodied red, and with my go to Argentinian Malbec not being an Italian staple. I suggested around €40. I was told that wasn’t an appropriate price for what we wanted. Clearly made us feel a little cheap. The wine was fine, and within the budget suggested. Every other restaurant we eat at managed to provide wine around that price that met our requirement. The waiters were just a little prickly. I understand champagne tastes at lemonade money, but I genuinely don’t believe this was the case. I went for the steak, and it wasn’t very impressive. My wife went for the lamb and again nice but no more. The issue was how we were made to feel, not the food or venue.
