This stylish 5 star establishment, in the heart of the Amalfi Coast, occupies a finely restored 12th century monastery complete with exquisite Arab-Norman cloisters, dating back to the 13th century.

A sophisticated combination of the building's Moorish architecture and elements of ultra modern interior design characterizes the hotel's spacious bedrooms and suites, all of which enjoy marvelous views of the sea surrounding Amalfi.

Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi's infinity swimming pool is located on a terrace directly above the sea. Similarly breathtaking views can be seen from the Monk's Walk and the Loggia. Those wishing to combine a holiday by the sea with some well deserved pampering, will no doubt spend hours luxuriating in the hotel's wellness center, equipped with Turkish bath, massage corner and gym.

“Luxury look, overpriced budget follow-through”

⭐️ (3 out of 5) – Beautiful Resort, Disappointing Experience We were supposed to receive a complimentary room upgrade through Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts, but at check-in were told, “We don’t do that,” and were given “a little balcony” instead. Once in the room, the door didn’t lock, and we waited nearly two hours for maintenance to fix it. My wife didn’t feel comfortable leaving until it was repaired. The hotel offered only an apology — no gesture to make things right. The rest of our stay was nice — the staff was excellent, breakfast was great (try the French toast), and drinks like the Golden Negroni (32 €) were beautifully made. However, our final night fell flat: no turn-down service and a 380 € dinner at the Thai restaurant that was the worst of our 16-day trip — bland, uninspired, and overpriced. We’ve eaten authentic Thai food in Thailand and even small-town Georgia has better flavor at a quarter of the price. The property is stunning and the staff kind, but management missed the mark. At this price point, the details and follow-through should match the view — they didn’t.

This is one special property. Perched atop the hillside above Amalfi, we had an amazing view of the bay and surrounding coast. The service is is exceptional. Two restaurant offerings onsite (we went to La Locanda twice it was so good- try the eggplant) We had an early check out and the hotel offered us boxes of sandwiches to go. We will return soon (we hope)

Hotel is beautiful with amazing views and service. We stayed with other couples and enjoyed the pool and hotel restaurants and bar. We also did a pizza making class which was a lot of fun and the pizza tasted so good. I highly recommend this hotel.

From the heights of its cliff-top position, the Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi dominates the whole of the Bay of Amalfi.
The hotel is located just outside the small seaside town of Amalfi, on the spectacular and often hair-raising SS163 coastal road, also known as the "Blue Ribbon" or "Amalfi Drive".
