Mornings Taste of Coastal Gold

There's a very special moment you'll experience here at Hotel Aurora Amalfi, and it's breakfast, served daily from 7:30 to 10:00 am.

You'll have an entire buffet of local delicacies at your disposal, delicious homemade pastries (including the house's secret lemon cake) as well as jams, fruit juices and yogurt, all served in the terraced garden overlooking the bay, surrounded by the colors and scents of bougainvillea. What more could you want?

If you have specific dietary needs, such as celiac disease, don't worry, there will be plenty of gluten-free products for you too!

In the afternoon, from 2:00 to 10:00 pm, the terrace among lemon and palm trees becomes Bar Protontini, the perfect spot for a romantic aperitif with a sea view.

A Solution for Families: The Aurora Residence

If you're traveling with children and prefer a very central accommodation close to both the boats departing for Positano and the other towns of the Amalfi Coast, book an independent apartment at the Aurora Residence, near Piazza Duomo and just 100 meters from the sea. I stayed in Aurora hotel last week. Right away upon my arrival, I was disappointed. The only plus for this hotel is its location and staff are friendly. However, everything else, was subpar! For the cost I paid, I would have at least expected working Wi-fi and fresh fruits. I can go on. Beyond the lack of accessible Wi fi, the sheets on the bed are itchy and starchy. The extra blankets are old and not even sure when and how much they are washed. The breakfast is mostly processed food with minimal healthy food. I tried oranges twice that were dry. The orange juice was from a container that was sugar. If all you care about is location near the ferry/bus stop and city center, then this is your fit!

Particularly noteworthy are the extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful staff members. Unfortunately, the quality of the rooms is not in reasonable proportion to the high room rate. The rooms are extremely thin-walled. You can hear the elevator just as clearly as every single guest walking by in the hallway. Therefore, there can hardly be any talk of peace and quiet or privacy. Especially at a hotel in this price category, we expect significantly better soundproofing and the ability to sleep undisturbed. As friendly as the staff may be – at this price level, significantly higher room comfort should be a matter of course. The price-performance ratio therefore unfortunately disappointed us.

The hotel is in a great location being just a short walk from the port in Amalfi. It is quiet and cool with a lovely terrace overlooking the sea. It was extremely hot while we were here and the aircon in the room was very quiet and efficient. The room itself was decorated well with typical Italian tiled floor, spacious bathroom, refrigerator and lots of storage space for our belongings. Some have mentioned hard beds but we found the very large bed comfortable with lovely cool cotton bedding. Towels were plentiful and changed daily. The staff here are amazingly friendly and can’t do enough for you, especially at breakfast which was plentiful. If visiting Amalfi again I would definitely come back to Hitel Aurora.

Our stay at the Aurora Hotel in Amalfi was an absolute dream, combining stunning sea views and spotless rooms with unparalleled hospitality. From the moment we arrived, the exceptional front desk team Marisa Delfina Enrico welcomed us with genuine warmth and provided brilliantly helpful local recommendations that made our trip seamless. Each morning, the incredible kitchen crew. Andrew Gerardo Claudia went above and beyond, preparing a wonderfully fresh, delicious breakfast that we enjoyed right by the water. The property strikes the perfect balance of being peacefully tucked away yet just a short, scenic walk from the vibrant heart of town. We truly cannot recommend this clean, comfortable, and deeply relaxing coastal haven enough for anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast
