The absolute best stay of our trip to Italy

My husband and I do not typically stay in 5-star hotels; Le Agavi was truly worth every cent while we were visiting Positano. The views alone made our stay memorable, but the service we received really made every moment of our stay enjoyable. Some highlights include- Shuttle- we used it just once when arriving to the hotel, but it was on time, easy to find, and so convenient! When departing, Vicenzo at the front desk helped us to arrange a water taxi to catch the ferry, which was so quick and easy. Rooms- absolutely breathtaking views right outside our room. We probably didn't explore Positano as much as we would have liked because we were so content spending time on the terrace overlooking the water. Beach- a bit confusing to find at first, but so fun and unique to take the funicular down to the water to our own private beach and swimming area! It was gorgeous and peaceful, with wonderful service from the staff at La Remmese for drinks or lunch. This was my first time staying in Positano so I'm not sure what other hotels offer, but it really did feel like you got the best of both worlds- stunning views from up above and access to the beautiful water down below. Breakfast- breakfast is included and the spread is phenomenal with anything you could want with outstanding service. We didn't get to La Serra for dinner, but with breakfast being served in the same area, I can only imagine what the dinner views are like. Service- the highlight of our stay! Everyone was so kind, welcoming, helpful, and seemed to really take pride in what they were providing. We were there for our honeymoon, and the bottle of Prosecco that was waiting for us when we arrived to our room set the tone for the service we would receive for the rest of our stay. HIGHLY recommend for a wonderful stay in Positano...we WILL be back!

We had a wonderful time at Le Agavi. The service was warm and attentive – every request was met with a smile. We especially loved the restaurant with its breathtaking views and the peaceful private beach club. Everything was perfect from start to finish. We'll definitely be back!

Conflicted

The views were amazing. The hotel staff was very helpful and responsive. The shuttle in and out of town was convenient. We booked the hotel's boat to Capri for a private day and it was a great experience. We canceled our reservation at La Serra not knowing it was a pre fix. They have Ala carte but they still want everyone to order the same thing and in a day ahead. Remesse was good for a hotel, but not remarkable. In terms of the not so great - We stayed in the Alma suite and it had fishy odors randomly come through the plumbing and strong smells of sulphur on the balcony at times. The rooms are clean but the amenities aren't great and it feels sparse. Room service was prompt but the food was not good. We had pizza at the restaurant and it was good. We thought that is what we'd get for room service but it wasn't and it was gross. We had a positive experience but this place isn't cheap, so I'm not sure it lived up to our expectations. Still giving four stars because the views readlly are great so if you plan to stay at the property a lot it is a bonus.
