This is a must go to restaurant if you are in the area!! Reno the owner is a great friendly guy! Spoke to us for several minutes about the history of the restaurant and gave us his favorite table for dinner!! Lobster with vegetables and pasta dishes were both excellent and I’m very hard to satisfy. Setting and scenery right on water can’t be beat!! Waiter and hostess were also very friendly and personable!! Can’t recommend Il Pirata enough!! If ever back on the Amalfi Coast, we will return!!

Great place to vsit, in Praiano. the view is absolutely perfection! 😍 We even got the best seats in the house, which made the experience even more special. Sadly, the food didn’t quite live up to the location and the view. (Maybe wrong season to eat octopus?) That said, the people were wonderful, warm, and friendly—especially Jeremias, who really stood out with his great service and personality. Beautiful place, beautiful views, and lovely people…we just wish the food had matched the rest of the experience! 😊

This was our third visit in five years, and unfortunately, the experience has steadily declined. The value for money is simply not acceptable anymore. Five years ago, the food was excellent; last year, it was okay; but this time, it was genuinely disappointing. The food was bland, barely warm, and the prices were completely out of proportion to the quality. The Il Scrulli tasted awful—they lacked seasoning and, despite being fried, were completely soggy. The chicken served on the salad was dry and unseasoned. The steak was okay and cooked to a good medium, but the Gorgonzola sauce was completely tasteless and lacked seasoning. The potatoes appeared to have been pre-fried and simply reheated. The restaurant has a wonderful location and a beautiful view, but sadly, the quality seems to decline with every visit. I’m sorry, but the experience is simply not worth the money.
