La Tagliata

I visited this restaurant over 8 years ago and couldn’t wait to return! However this experience was completely different. As many have already said we waited over an hour for our transfer which left us feeling frustrated to begin with. The food was very average and it felt like we were on a conveyer belt with course after course being slapped on the table. Quality was poor and not what I would expect for the price The view is wonderful and the staff were great but I would not visit or recommend this place

"Let's do something relaxing tomorrow," we said. "A cooking class will be nice and peaceful," we said. Little did we know we accidentally signed up for the next episode of "Kitchen Nighmare: Amalfi Coast Edition". Highlight of the trip so far! 🍝🍆🍷🎤🪇😵‍💫

I feel like writing this review, hoping it has an effect: The place is, obviously, a 10 out of 10, enchanting, especially the small tables near the view of Positano. First aspect: the house fixed menu is fine, but it is exaggerated that if a couple wants a course for one person - e.g., the meat main course or the appetizer - it MUST be for two...: it seems exaggerated and implausible to me; vegetable appetizer, a 7, with a slice of capocollo, to be sent back, it was so inedible, a 4; the first course a 7; the meat, a 5, very tough; desserts a 4 or 3: old and stale. But the most appalling aspect, an absurdity, was the staff, or rather one of them: a waiter, I won't say who, was responding to colleagues with swear words and even a blasphemy, for a favor that had been asked of him by his colleague, with us Italian tourists, Neapolitans, at the table next to the room where these two colleagues were; the same waiter was making fun of foreign tourists, after having interacted in their language, in dialect, mocking them, regardless of the Italians who could hear him, in a presumptuous, unpleasant, uncivil way; even though I had booked, when we arrived, very rudely, the same character had given us a table in an arrogant way, I would say sloppy and unprofessional. The other colleagues seemed more like people we could interact with in a polite and calm way, they moved us from the center of the room to the side with the view, as soon as possible, a bit annoyed, but without appearing rude... The bill, still the same character, given verbally, without a receipt, telling us that he was even doing us a favor, and it was, in any case, for me, a high sum, for how we ate. For the view, it could be justified, because the panorama, the view is truly enchanting. Unfortunately, a place with potential, mistreated by those who serve it, by those who work there..., relying, I believe, on the good turnout, especially foreign, which pays well. Unfortunately, the people working there are rude and "arrogant," with the reasoning that "the money comes in anyway and the foreigners pay." No, I would not go back... And I will conclude by saying that other staff members were not as rude and arrogant... Lorenzo Mandato

The shuttle service was next to nothing. Waiting time over an hour to get out. People does not understand how logistics or clock works. Food was decent but the poor service to get away from the place was the worst. Choose this place if you like to wait and waste your life.
