The luxury of simplicity

  1. Savor refined flavors at the Michelin-starred restaurant

  2. The heated infinity pool overlooking the Bay of Naples

  3. The exclusive spa with its thermal suite

Monastero Santa Rosa is a charming hotel overlooking the Amalfi Coast, perched on a dramatic rocky outcrop in Conca dei Marini, along the road connecting Amalfi and Positano. In the 17th century the building housed cloistered Dominican nuns; today it has been transformed into a dream hotel for adults only, preserving the original architecture of the ancient monastery. Among the first guests to discover this corner of paradise was Prince Albert of Monaco.

A Paradise Within Paradise

You'll be welcomed by the heady scents of citrus and rosemary, released by the gardens, spread across four levels, with chaise longues and sun loungers and medicinal herbs from the kitchen garden. Amid the greenery you'll spot the panoramic infinity pool, blending into the blue of the sky and sea: even before stepping inside Monastero Santa Rosa, you'll feel on top of the world.

Every corner of Monastero Santa Rosa gives you a piece of paradise: from every window, balcony and terrace you'll enjoy a magical view over the Gulf of Salerno and the sea of the Amalfi Coast.

A Room That Touches the Sky

The 20 luxurious rooms and suites (including 8 suites) at Monastero Santa Rosa Hotel & Spa were carved from the cells where the monastery's nuns once lived, still preserving their original proportions and vaulted ceilings, along with the deep spirituality that once filled the place.

Each room and suite is named after one of the medicinal plants grown in the monastery's garden, distinguished by elegant, refined interiors, curated down to the smallest detail to create intimate spaces with a unique design that instills relaxation and wellbeing. Every suite differs in size, furnishings and architecture, making each one truly one of a kind. Some feature elegant living and dining areas, as well as beautiful terraces with lemon trees and bougainvillea.

The Suite Rosa is more than just a room, it's a true private residence. Exclusive and luxurious, with original monastery furniture and fine antiques, it spans two levels across 130 sqm: the view here is simply breathtaking. The most romantic choice for a honeymoon or a very special occasion.

A Stellar Dining Experience

At Il Refettorio, awarded one Michelin star, chef Alfonso Crescenzo showcases the quality of seafood, meats and local produce, paying homage to the monastic history of the place.

Dining on the terrace of Monastero Santa Rosa Hotel & Spa is an extraordinary experience: Michelin-starred excellence paired with a heavenly setting.

Beyond formal dinners on the terrace or in the indoor restaurant, a light lunch can also be enjoyed at the poolside café, while admiring the sea, or at the library bar...

Exclusive Wellness in the Thermal Suite

The Spa at Monastero Santa Rosa is carved into the living rock of the cliff: once inside, you can forget time and space. You'll find a Tepidarium, a Turkish bath, an ice fountain, a sauna carved into the rock, a hydrotherapy pool, a sensory shower and foot-bath basins. Massages and treatments use Santa Maria Novella products.

The real gem, however, is the intimate Spa Suite, with dedicated beds for wet and dry treatments and an outdoor sundeck for continuing treatments beneath a pergola.

The hotel is recognized with a Michelin Key and is an adults-only property (guests must be 18 or older).

A Nice hotel

Hotel is very good and much more better and professional than overrated hotels such as il san pietro di positano. The views are amazing and it has very good terrace to hang out and spend time. The staff is also very quick and helpful and accommodates most of your requests. The only issue is that the pool becomes lukewarm after noon and it is not refreshing at all. And since there is only one pool and no beach access it is a bit of an issue to consider.

After a disastrous start in Amalfi at a different hotel, Monastero Santa Rosa came to the rescue! Was able to salvage our honeymoon in Amalfi by getting a last minute 4-night stay here. Here’s the short and simple version. This hotel is very special. It is elegance and luxury without being pretentious. The property and ground have been beautifully designed and maintained. They have literally thought of everything. The rooms are a great size and everything from the beds, linens, towels and robes are impeccable. This place is a hidden gem, away from the noise and business of the main city center, but close enough that they run a private shuttle to take you to the city center and back. The pool area is incredible. A beautiful infinity pool that overlooks water and Amalfi. It is easy to get lost in this place’s nooks and crannies and walkways. The staff at the pool area always there to get you anything needed. The only thing that was not great was the Michelin star restaurant. It was overpriced for the experience. The food seemed to be more experimental than flavourful. So I would recommend saving money and not eat here. The breakfast service is incredible! The food is tasty and staff are busy making sure guests have everything they need. The food at the traditional restaurant is AMAZING! We truly enjoyed the meals there and will be thinking about some of these dishes at home. Don’t miss out on the Spa, thermal experience that is included! In addition to all the amenities and Spa, the thing that really sets this place apart are the staff. All of them have been so friendly and attentive to guest needs. They have done an impressive job in setting and maintaining service standards - and it can be seen in everyone. Thank you to Jacopo, and Gennaro - shuttle team, Maria - reception, Fabio and Andrea - bar/restaurant team, Mariana - who worked pool and restaurant, the tall young lady with dark hair who seemed to work all the restaurants, the entire pool staff who took care of us, entire spa team - and to all the many others that make this place special.

This is a truly unique Hotel, unrivalled. We found the staff to be highly attentive, friendly, respectful and efficient. The Hotel is magnificent with breathtaking views from most locations. The Hotel is as clean as clean and everything is pre-thought of. So many little touches including little gifts most nights, make this wonderful escape so special. The food too was really tasty and plentiful. The courtessy shuttle to and from local restaurants and towns like Amalfy was very welcoming and the driver is such a lovely guy! The attention to detail is clear to see and it was a real pleasure to meet the remarkable staff who took time to ensure our expectations were surpassed. We enjoyed the history and traditions of this incredible hotel. I read about this resort some 12 years ago and have finnaly made the visit. Wow was it worth it - of course it was. Fantastic!
