Ristorante Da Mimì

The food was average nothing special. Expensive for what you got. Wasn't happy. The service was ok

We arrived around 9. We had tried the previous day too to sit down but nothing was available. We waited a little for them to arrange it with the reception, to characterize it as even fantastic. We sat in the inner courtyard which was not particularly well maintained. We all ordered... and in 20 minutes, all the dishes started arriving except for what I had ordered. I waited politely for a while and then asked... another waitress, not the one we ordered from, returned and said, "It's closed now, unfortunately, it can't come!!!!" hahaha... JOKE... The food was moderate overall. The staff were nice... the environment was even bad for such a beautiful place...

After being in Italy for 2 weeks I fancied something different to my usual go to pizza and pasta dishes so opted for the gnocchi with calamari on the specials board. When this arrived it was covered in some kind of cheese that wasn't mentioned on the description..I'm not a massive fan of "smelly" cheese so would not have chosen this dish had I have known. I tried to take it off but it was half melted throughout the dish. I asked the waiter if they could make it without the cheese and he said no, then brought me the menu. I opted for a diavolo pizza. ( I can handle mozzarella) and asked for another beer. The beer never arrived and when the pizza did it was a Margherita. Not my favourite and not what I'd ordered but it was quite nice. I then asked for another beer which came. I didn't realise until I'd left the restaurant I was charged for all 3 beers. Overall not a brilliant experience for my last night in Italy

Very welcoming place and helpful staff. Excellent food, good value for money. A special thanks to Mrs. Giovanna who was very kind and didn't let me leave craving a babà.
