Trattoria da Lorenzo -- a wonderful family-run restaurant in Scala perched high on a terrace overlooking nearby Ravello -- offers the kind of welcoming experience and outstanding service that make diners feel as though they are part of the family. Just as impressive are the well-crafted wine list and the variety of delicious dishes coming out of the kitchen. Scala is a bit off the beaten path if you are visiting the Amalfi Coast but every aspect of this restaurant makes the taxi ride over the narrow, winding roads well worth it. The most delicious Ragu we’ve ever eaten , the most divine fresh fish baked in salt, and all the warmth of a third generation family restauarnt. Thank you for our best meal on Amalfi coast and islands .

The excitement the staff had over their food was contagious. The pasta, the ragu, the fish, the wine, the enormous wine list! All spectacular. We were the first guest of the evening and the place soon filled. As it was cooler, the end of the season, the patio was enclosed. And yet it was still a beautiful dining room.
