Villa Magia, the pinnacle of your dream villa

  1. One of the most spectacular views along the entire Amalfi Coast
  2. The perfect position at the highest point in Positano, accessible by car
  3. The lush Mediterranean garden, where you can settle in to gaze at the sea

At the pinnacle of picturesque Positano, right at the point where the twisting uphill lanes converge with the winding stairs to offer up the most breathtaking vantage point along the entire Amalfi Coast, sits Villa Magia, five full floors of beautiful luxury for your coastal vacation.

A Magic Spell

Against the backdrop of the uniquely gorgeous town of Positano, you will find yourself taken in by the magic of Villa Magia, an 18th-century residence part of which was once an ancient watchtower used to guard against pirate invasions. Acquired by the current family in the 1990s, it has since been lovingly preserved as a true family story turned luxury boutique hotel.

The villa has six guest rooms and suites and is surrounded by a sweeping garden of more than 3000 square meters, where flower beds and terraced lawn blend into perfectly scenic corners where guests can relax and enjoy the view over the sea.

On the villa's first floor, guests can take advantage of the two fully equipped kitchens, one indoor and one outdoor, the latter of which also boasts a barbecue and wood-burning oven. The living and dining rooms are also on this floor, both decorated with elegant furnishings and carefully selected artwork.

On the upper floor, two elegant suites await, both comfortable and luxurious, with private bathrooms and terraces.

Guests who book the master suite at Villa Magia can enjoy the one-of-a-kind view stretching from the Spiaggia di Fornillo to the Spiaggia Grande beaches.

The fourth and fifth floors of Villa Magia are occupied by Villa Luna: this villa inside the villa has an independent entrance, three bedrooms, and a pool, all the privacy of an exclusive home yet all the comfort of Villa Magia's amenities, including the gym, spa, and restaurant.

In the Tower Like Yesteryear

The lower level is the most historic section of the villa, where the remains of an ancient watchtower which guarded against Saracen pirate invasions once stood. Here there are two additional suites, both elegantly furnished in Positano resort style, sharing a kitchen with an outdoor patio. From here, it's just a few steps to the pool and sundeck, both boasting gorgeous views: the villa's two panoramic pools, freely accessible to guests, are surrounded by the scent of bougainvillea.

In the gardens which surround Villa Magia, guests are free to pick fresh fruit and vegetables for their al fresco lunches and dinners!

Dining with a View

Breakfast is served each morning on the terrace overlooking the sea. For dinner, Luna Restaurant offers a fine-dining experience on the villa's panoramic terrace, with Mediterranean flavors and views over the Amalfi Coast, while Magia Bistrot is the go-to for a more relaxed lunch or a light bite, featuring regional specialities.

Your Magical Wedding Day

The beauty of the setting alone would be reason enough to celebrate your wedding here, but Villa Magia's own team personally takes care of every detail, from floral design to the ceremony setup, from logistics to vintage cars and private boats for a scenic arrival. Celebrate the wedding of your dreams at Villa Magia!

A true gem! Outstanding on every level. Hotel reception, waiters, bar tenders, maids… all out standing - who went above and beyond to make our stay thoroughly enjoyable. Nothing was too much. Tours, restaurant reservations, breakfasts… just everything. The food was amazing as were the wines and cocktails. Special mention to Gianni who was so utterly accommodating. If you get the chance to visit please do as you’ll just love it. We will be back..

The entire experience was AMAZING! The hotel is gorgeous! The views are impeccable. The response time was like nothing I have ever seen and I travel all the time. The food from breakfast to supper was fantastic! The drinks were superb, but what I can’t say enough great things about…are the staff. The staff is like no where I have ever been. They are personable and treat everyone so kind. Nothing is too much for them, they are truly there to meet your every need. From the guys that unload your luggage, to the front desk employees, housekeeping, and the most amazing bartenders/waitstaff! I’m not slightly kidding when I say they are the best of the best! Every one of one them! We personally got to know and love the waitstaff/bartenders Sal and Always Johnny!!! They will help you with any and everything. If I could put them in my pocket and take them home, I would. Fantastic experience…Gorgeous hotel…breath taking views…perfect workers! Way to go Villa Magia, you have a heck of a crew! ❤️❤️❤️

Honestly I am not going to tell you anything different from the other reviewers. We are not billionaire world travelers but we have been to a number of upmarket properties (Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, similar level all inclusive properties, etc.) that provides perspective on what is or isn't (or should be) included in a high end property. Villa Magia is a wonderful place. You can say that for the prices they should be. But if you have been on this earth long enough to afford luxury goods and services you know that reality does not always meet expectation. At Villa Magia it does. We had a junior suite with a large patio and a direct and stunning ocean view. It had a bedroom (with separate steam shower) on one side, a living room in the middle and a bathroom with shower on the other side. The bathroom had a fancy toilet/bidet mix and will spoil you. Once you have your buns warmed you will never want to go back to a standard toilet. The room was lovely and in excellent repair. Note: The bed is firm. Comfort is personal but we like a softer bed. BUT see below. There is not much of an exercise room but you will walk, and walk and walk. Probably a warning to those who have some physical limitations that there are a LOT of steps in V.M. and Positano. V.M. does have some elevators but you need to let them know ahead of time so your room is accessible from one of them. From our room it was 3+ flights (4+ stories in US at least) to get to the restaurant and another 4+ flights (5+ stories) to get to the road that leads to the beach/shopping area. You need to be careful as the stairs (outside the property) are largely old stones and may be bumpy or slippery in the wet. And, outside the property railings are limited or not at all. I suspect that if you are disabled or impaired physically the Amalfi coast is going to be a challenging trip. I am guessing that V.M. is similar in this respect to other water front properties in Positano but I really did not look into it. We were happy but just be aware of the steep and abundant steps in Positano and plan accordingly. Tip: If you go to the beach/shopping area do not use the stairs across from the hotel, simply take the winding road (Via Pasitea) down. It does not take any longer and your knees, calves and thighs will thank you. The onsite restaurant is very good. There are a lot of interesting and excellent restaurants so I would say you should eat here at least once but try others as well if you are there for a few more days. We had several meals on site and found them to be enjoyable. Breakfast. Our room had a larger balcony than some of the others. You really need to take advantage of the wonderful breakfast on the balcony. The view is gorgeous and the food is very good. They offer an excellent assortment of proteins, pastries, fresh squeezed OJ, fruit, coffee, espresso, etc. And their pastries (croissants with different fillings) are freshly made and to die for. This is Four Seasons quality (at least $100-125.00 US value for two) included in our room price. Now to the wonderful, wonderful team at Villa Magia. Some talk a commitment to service. They deliver. As noted in other reviews they give you a Samsung Galaxy when you arrive. Anything you need you simply WhatsApp them and your request will be attended to graciously and promptly. Each and every contact with any of their team was met with genuine warmth and and a sincere desire to help. For example: Remember the firm bed I referred to? In other hotels I would simply chalk it up to I was stuck with it. But seeing the overall way they anticipated many needs I mentioned it to them on a whim. Answer: When can we come to your room to add a mattress topper? It made a notable difference in comfort to us. Ask. They will do our best. On our first day after 4 hrs in the car from Rome, we did not investigate how far the beach shopping area was. We used the stairs all the way down and got turned around. Note: Use the shuttle provided by the hotel if you are local and tired. They have regular trips. Just WhatsApp them. After a long walk and shop (and a long walk back), we walked up to the front desk/ restaurant area clearly exhausted. We plopped down. The older gentleman at the restaurant (I am bad with names) saw two pooped people and immediately popped over with cool water. We were not nearby and not really seeking or expecting any help. He is just a very kind person and saw a few people who maybe needed some help. This is just one example of a team of people who really make a sincere effort to make you feel welcome and cared for. And this is consistent with every contact and every employee we met at Villa Magia. Should we visit the Amalfi cost in the future we would not hesitate to come back to Villa Magia and we heartily recommend them to you.
