Reviews are not us, as they are very subjective and personal, however, even after a year of staying with Francesco, his Family & Staff, we still feel compelled to do so. We luv to travel and rarely stay in the same place twice. Villa San Michele will be an exception to this. The beauty, cleanliness, atmosphere & service was some of the best we have experienced. Francesco and all around him, made our stay even better. The food was top notch and showcased the local wines & cuisine. The hospitality was from the heart and not forced. Anyone visiting the area should consider Villa San Michele.

There is a tiny trellis covered parking area off of the road. This is where luggage funicular is located (basket they will lower your luggage down to rooms). One flight of stairs down is reception. Many staff speak English and other languages. The terraces are on many levels, with lovely plants everywhere. Yes the stairs are plentiful. From swimming platform to the lower terrace off the rooms, is 90 steps. My husband has a bad knee and he was able to get around. Rest with a lovely view when needed. The rooms have an Amalfi coast decor. The mattress topper does make sleeping a bit warm. The bathroom in our Juliette balcony room, as many have mentioned, is very compact. I am a size medium and 5’7.” I had to turn off the water to shave, wash, and shampoo. There is a mini bar in the room. The staff are extremely kind and caring. They have the SITA bus schedule posted. It is easy to buy a ticket, and your return ticket, across the street. The bus could be full and you have to wait for the next one. Ask the staff where to access if you want to climb the steps all the way to Ravello. Views are great. You need to be reasonably fit. You can use Google maps. You could get a fruit plate at breakfast. Other breakfast items included sweet croissant, bread for the meats, cheeses (fresh mozzarella!), and tomatoes, fresh juice, coffee, and yogurt (granola, nuts, cereal to add). Our only ferry option ended up being an early one and they gave us coffee, yogurt and breads before breakfast hours opened. To get from Amalfi, we were able to use Amalfi porters—they were great. We used the laundry service.

This was a warm and welcoming small family run hotel for a lone traveller; the slightly dated rooms are compensated by the exquisite views. You do need to be reasonably agile - there are loads of steps - but I guess they build an appetite for the good home cooked food on offer!

Tutto ottimo. Proprietari gentolissimi ed ospitali. Il personale assolutamente perfetto. Abbiamo scelto di cenare in hotel e abbiamo fatto bene, tutto sempre ottimo.
