Exceptional stay at Villa Yiara

We are on our last night of a 5 night stay at Villa Yiara - this hotel is exceptional in every way. Our room has vines growing up the walls and onto the arched ceilings, so beautiful and unique. Don’t even get me started on the HUGE breakfasts they deliver to your balcony each morning to enjoy with the gorgeous views. Incredible care and preparations go into this and having breakfast served in room feels so luxurious. The staff is friendly, kind and very helpful. 10/10 stay. Book this - you won’t regret it.

We arrived last night at the Villa Yiara, for a romantic getaway on my husband's birthday. As our driver dropped us off up front, we realized it wasn’t going to be easy to get our luggage downstairs, since it was all steps. We rang the doorbell and a wonderful staff member named Raul came up and immediately took both my husband’s and my duffle bags down the stairs. He then led us down another flight of stairs to our room (No. 8) and we were blown away! It was a very spacious room with high ceilings, elegant white furniture with gold trim, chandeliers, two live trees in the room, and a view to die for! We both agreed this was the nicest hotel we’ve ever stayed at. The staff came down with a bottle of Prosecco and two champagne flutes so we could celebrate my hubby’s birthday. As we got ready for bed later, we discovered a few things or areas of improvement that would make this hotel perfect: (1) There was no blanket! There were sheets, but no real blanket, and there was no extra blanket in the closet. We were fortunate the heater worked well. (2) The pillows were flimsy and had no support at all for your head. (3) The curtains: what makes for a beautiful look during the day prevents guests from having a darkened room at night. Not only was there no way to close the curtains to make the room dark, but there was lots of light outdoors that was coming in all night. I had a sleep mask with me, but my husband did not. In the morning, we awoke to a stunning view of the sunrise over the Mediterranean Sea, and a knock at the door brought the most sumptuous complimentary breakfast. We opened the doors to our balcony and sat outside as we ate our breakfast. There was so much food, we probably didn’t eat even 1/3 of it. After breakfast, we began to pack and realized the room had filled with flies… I guess from the doors being opened during breakfast, but it also could have been due to the trees in the room. I’m sure the staff knows how to get rid of them! Upon checkout, the staff assured us they would bring our luggage back upstairs to meet our driver, which they did. To summarize, I would DEFINITELY stay here again and I recommend Villa Yiarra to others, especially if they address the blanket, pillows and curtains issues. I hate to say anything negative about this property because it was so wonderful, but at prices like this, these should not be issues.
