Cooking Class + Lunch

This was our first 'Agriturismo' experience and one we will always remember. From the time we arrived, we were felt to be very welcome by Salvatore and his family/staff (his brother and mother host as well). The location, slightly up in the hills, but still only a ten minute drive from Sorento, is nicely tucked away. The property is like a large house with several rooms and a beautiful, outdoor, sheltered restaurant downstairs. There are some grounds where you can go and look at the animals reared and the vegetables grown. Also a few children's outdoor toys and some space to kick a football. The food is fresh and taken from what they produce for a really authentic experience. Breakfast (included) is on the terrace upstairs - where you can see a beautiful sunset in the evenings too - with views over towards the sea. The atmosphere is relaxed and like being in the countryside. The room was perfectly good, clean and comfortable. There is a pool two minutes walk away that Antico Casale have an arrangement with - so, for a reasonable cost, you can while away an afternoon there with sun-loungers while the kids play. There is a small restaurant for snacks there as well. Overall, it felt like we were staying at a guesthouse with family. We were very well looked after and it was so relaxed and peaceful - with some days staying at the property and others exploring the other towns on the coast by rental car (recommended). Plus the children enjoyed it as much as we did and we were all sorry to leave after a lovely five day stay. We would love to come back again.

Whenever we travel in Italy, we have a book at our side: Osterie d'Italia by slow food. This book is a compilation of restaurants that adhere to three simple rules: local recipes, local ingredients and only seasonal produce. This ensures that in general you will find authentic high quality local food. And again we were not disappointed. The food was fresh, the vegetables were fantastic, the pasta was delicious, home made wine and olive oil, and the staff was going out in the garden to get fresh herbs. Our host was very kind and went at lengths at explaining the dishes, the surrounding and culture. He is also trying to revive the production of local nuts and oranges that have a really distinct flavour. The orange sorbet was delicious. This is a must for anybody at the Amalfi coast.

Sono stato più volte a pranzo ed a cena, e credo che la mia recensione possa essere davvero equilibrata. La location è rustica ma curata, il cibo ottimo, con una buona varietà di scelta ed un ottima qualità dei prodotti. Per chi vuole assaggiare a pieno quella che è la cucina tipica della Penisola è il luogo più adatto. L'accoglienza è squisita ed il servizio accorto, sebbene di carattere familiare. Non ha la formula classica degli agriturismi del menu fisso, e questo ne fa sicuramente un posto non economico, ma considerando il cibo ed il posto in cui siamo i prezzi sono assolutamente adeguati a quanto offerto.

Most welcoming and kind family. The food here is superb. We had a Mountain View room with a terrace. Basic decor but comfortable and a great shower. Nearby LaLisca pool club was a godsend on days when we were too tired to climb down to beaches etc! Salvatore the manager is brilliant! Stayed 7 nights and would do go back,
